Mitra lives in Newtown, Sydney. She graduated from the University of Western Sydney in 2002, majoring in Fine Arts.Her art practice consists of installation-based works, dealing with concepts of nature versus technology and the everyday.
She has also photographed and exhibited with sister, and fellow artist; Simona Jovanovic. Most recently, she curated Road:Road, an official event in Big Bike Love, the 2008 International Bicycle Film Festival Sydney.
